Yoga for me is a way of life.
My practice and teaching is grounded in the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli
whilst drawing inspiration from the complimentary practices of the Chinese
internal healing arts, feldenkrais, continuum movement, contact improvisation
and dance.
I offer a deep yet playful exploration, via the physical body, into yoga
as a state of being. Through guided movement, breathwork, asana practice
and meditation students are encouraged to explore deep within. We identify
and undo habitual patterns of tension, and allow a more primal intelligence
to unfold.
Movement is invited as an expression of the breath and the fluid awakening
of the spine. From a place of ‘not-doing‘ the body/mind begins to find
integration and a connection back into universal forces and our place within
nature.
The emphasis is on creativity and stillness in movement, encouraging individuality
and self-expression. This practice is heart-felt and transformative.
I teach classes, workshops and retreats in the UK and internationally.
I am a trained dancer and yoga teacher from the UK. I studied dance and performing
arts at The Urdang Academy and The London Contemporary Dance School and
completed a 3yr yoga teaching training at Natural Bodies in Brighton, UK with
Gary Carter and many of the key teachers of the Scaravelli inspired practice.
My yoga practice continues under the guidance of John Stirk, my main teacher of many yrs.
